Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2024, Romania's unemployment by sex and age decreased by 3.6% compared to 2023, reaching 5.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 5.9%.

Romania ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 10.2% (from 4.9% in 2019).
