Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2021, Slovakia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 3.1% compared to 2020, reaching 60.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 86.7%.

Slovakia ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 15.5% (from 52.1% in 2016).
