Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2025, Slovakia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 2.8% compared to 2024, reaching 61.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 81.7%.

Slovakia ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.1% (from 58.4% in 2020).
