Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2024, Slovakia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 7.0% compared to 2023, reaching 59.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.7%.

Slovakia ranks 13th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 24.4% (from 48.0% in 2019).
