Life expectancy by age and sex

In 1996, Slovakia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.7% compared to 1995, reaching 77.0.

Slovakia ranks 18th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.0% (from 75.5 in 1991).
