Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Slovakia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.2% compared to 2023, reaching 81.7.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 84.1.

Slovakia ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.6% (from 81.2 in 2019).
