Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2009, Slovakia's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.4% compared to 2008, reaching 17.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 20.7%.

Slovakia ranks 12th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 15.3% (from 15.4% in 2004).
