Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2017, Spain's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 0.6% compared to 2016, reaching 17.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 18.4%.

Spain ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 20.2% (from 14.2% in 2012).
