In 2016, Austria's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 0.0% compared to 2015, reaching 13.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 14.3%.

Austria ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 18.5% (from 16.2% in 2011).
