Persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion by age and sex

In 2025, Austria's persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion by age and sex increased by 11.2% compared to 2024, reaching 18.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 20.9%.

Austria ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 12.6% (from 16.7% in 2020).
