Persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion by age and sex

In 2025, Hungary's persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion by age and sex increased by 1.0% compared to 2024, reaching 19.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 20.9%.

Hungary ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.5% (from 19.4% in 2020).
