Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2022, Austria's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 0.5% compared to 2021, reaching 73.6%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 41.2%.

Austria ranks 3rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.8% (from 71.6% in 2017).
