Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2023, Austria's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 19.4% compared to 2022, reaching 87.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 45.4%.

Austria ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 18.5% (from 74.2% in 2018).
