Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Austria's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 5.4% compared to 2020, reaching 74.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 37.8%.

Austria ranks 2nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.1% (from 72.5% in 2016).
