At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2023, Belgium's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 12.3% compared to 2022, reaching 15.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.6%.

Belgium ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 5.4% (from 16.6% in 2018).
