In 2016, Belgium's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 6.4% compared to 2015, reaching 16.6%.
The figure is below the EU-27 average of 18.2%.
Belgium ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.8% (from 16.0% in 2011).
