At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2021, Belgium's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 8.8% compared to 2020, reaching 12.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.1%.

Belgium ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 13.8% (from 14.5% in 2016).
