Employment rates by citizenship

In 2025, Germany's employment rates by citizenship decreased by 0.6% compared to 2024, reaching 80.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 75.4%.

Germany ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.6% (from 78.9% in 2020).
