Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2010, Belgium's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 26.5% compared to 2009, reaching 6.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 14.4%.

Belgium ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 158.2% (from 2.3% in 2005).
