Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2010, Germany's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 7.5% compared to 2009, reaching 11.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 14.4%.

Germany ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 62.8% (from 7.2% in 2005).
