Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2014, Belgium's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.8% compared to 2013, reaching 8.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.4%.

Belgium ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 69.4% (from 4.7% in 2009).
