At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2021, Bulgaria's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 14.5% compared to 2020, reaching 24.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 19.6%.

Bulgaria ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 24.1% (from 31.9% in 2016).
