At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2021, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 3.6% compared to 2020, reaching 26.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 19.6%.

Italy ranks 4th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.6% (from 26.7% in 2016).
