At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2023, Bulgaria's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 37.6% compared to 2022, reaching 22.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.6%.

Bulgaria ranks 7th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 24.0% (from 29.2% in 2018).
