At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2023, Bulgaria's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 17.4% compared to 2022, reaching 21.3%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.9%.

Bulgaria ranks 4th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 9.0% (from 23.4% in 2018).
