At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2024, Bulgaria's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 6.1% compared to 2023, reaching 22.6%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.9%.

Bulgaria ranks 3rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.0% (from 24.3% in 2019).
