In 2021, Bulgaria's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 9.6% compared to 2020, reaching 24,435.

Bulgaria ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 25.3% (from 32,727 in 2016).
