In 2022, Bulgaria's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 15.6% compared to 2021, reaching 28,250.

Bulgaria ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 31.0% (from 40,947 in 2017).
