Employment rates by citizenship

In 2025, Bulgaria's employment rates by citizenship decreased by 0.1% compared to 2024, reaching 67.5%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 66.6%.

Bulgaria ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.2% (from 64.8% in 2020).
