Employment rates by citizenship

In 2024, Bulgaria's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.3% compared to 2023, reaching 67.6%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 66.2%.

Bulgaria ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.8% (from 66.4% in 2019).
