Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2025, Croatia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 1.9% compared to 2024, reaching 56.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 81.7%.

Croatia ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 34.9% (from 86.5% in 2020).
