In 2016, Cyprus's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 12.7% compared to 2015, reaching 19.5%.
The figure is above the EU-27 average of 14.3%.
Cyprus ranks 7th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 45.1% (from 35.5% in 2011).
