At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2016, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 7.6% compared to 2015, reaching 18.3%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 14.3%.

Portugal ranks 9th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 8.5% (from 20.0% in 2011).
