Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2016, Cyprus's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 0.7% compared to 2015, reaching 9.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 18.0%.

Cyprus ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 57.5% (from 6.2% in 2011).
