Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2024, Czechia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 2.6% compared to 2023, reaching 43.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.7%.

Czechia ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 46.3% (from 29.6% in 2019).
