Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2020, Denmark's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 18.0% compared to 2019, reaching 45.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 89.5%.

Denmark ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.3% (from 44.6% in 2015).
