Distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group

In 2024, France's distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group decreased by 3.0% compared to 2023, reaching 61.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 68.4%.

France ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.5% (from 64.1% in 2019).
