Distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group

In 2025, France's distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group increased by 0.3% compared to 2024, reaching 61.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 68.5%.

France ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 3.5% (from 63.6% in 2020).
