Distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group

In 2024, Germany's distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group decreased by 0.8% compared to 2023, reaching 47.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 68.4%.

Germany ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.6% (from 51.1% in 2019).
