In 2018, France's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 7.2% compared to 2017, reaching 339,333.

France ranks 1st out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 12.0% (from 385,511 in 2013).
