Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2023, Germany's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 8.1% compared to 2022, reaching 51.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 45.4%.

Germany ranks 9th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 38.2% (from 37.6% in 2018).
