Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2016, Netherlands's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 2.3% compared to 2015, reaching 5.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 18.0%.

Netherlands ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 29.2% (from 4.5% in 2011).
