Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2016, Luxembourg's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 7.6% compared to 2015, reaching 5.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 18.0%.

Luxembourg ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 87.9% (from 2.9% in 2011).
