Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2017, Germany's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 0.2% compared to 2016, reaching 7.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 7.5%.

Germany ranks 9th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.0% (from 7.3% in 2012).
