At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2023, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 21.0% compared to 2022, reaching 15.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.6%.

Romania ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 32.5% (from 22.8% in 2018).
