Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2009, Slovakia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 27.3% compared to 2008, reaching 36.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 75.7%.

Slovakia ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 13.3% (from 42.0% in 2004).
