Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2024, Hungary's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 0.3% compared to 2023, reaching 73.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.7%.

Hungary ranks 9th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 13.1% (from 65.0% in 2019).
