Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2009, Hungary's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 36.3% compared to 2008, reaching 11.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 13.9%.

Hungary ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 167.5% (from 4.4% in 2004).
