Population structure indicators at national level

In 2017, Ireland's population structure indicators at national level increased by 1.1% compared to 2016, reaching 36.9.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 43.2.

Ireland ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.4% (from 35.0 in 2012).
