Population structure indicators at national level

In 2022, Ireland's population structure indicators at national level increased by 1.0% compared to 2021, reaching 38.8.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 44.4.

Ireland ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.1% (from 36.9 in 2017).
